The Nine Cuts Series

A nine-book martial arts fantasy series following Kane Kurosawa — an everyday man, drawn into a role he didn’t ask for, across worlds seeded from Earth’s greatest catastrophes.

Each world carries its own magic, its own danger, and its own relic. Kane must navigate all of it — with only his training, his instincts, and everything his Master prepared him for.

The Nine Cuts Book 1 – The Demon of Strength

Kane Kurosawa has trained his entire life without knowing what he was training for. When a test of skill sends him through a passage between worlds, he arrives in Nihara — a world seeded from Earth’s own history, where a warden has been murdered, an ancient seal is breaking, and something ancient is waking inside the mountain to the north.

The Nine Cuts: Origins, Volume I, A Nine Cuts Prequel Novella Collection

Before Kane Kurosawa knew what he was training for, there was a fifteen-year-old boy in an Oakland parking lot making a decision that would define everything that followed. Before the series begins, there was a Guardian at the height of his power — crossing the world in a single working, fighting soldiers in a burning library, carrying irreplaceable knowledge through a door into somewhere impossible.

The Nine Cuts: Origins, Volume 1 contains two prequel stories and a guide to the worlds of The Nine Cuts. Before the Burning follows the Master in 391 CE Alexandria, doing what Guardians do — arriving before the catastrophe, leaving after the work is done. The Apprentice follows Kane at fifteen, two years into his training, finding the commitment that will carry him across nine worlds.

The world guide introduces the seeding concept, the magical traditions, and the scope of what’s coming.
